Above all things, I believe in hope. One of the most crushing blows of your life can occur when you feel like there’s no way out. Even when people are at their lowest, there is still hope for both individuals and relationships. That really defines me as a therapist. When problems seem insurmountable, having someone to work through the issues one piece at a time can be invaluable to the healing process. When I sit in sessions with clients, I know they can make it through what they’re facing. No matter how difficult the roadblocks are, I am confident that we can work to repair, rebuild, and restore. I’m here to offer a lifeline to individuals and relationships.
I am a MFT Intern and in the clinical portion of working towards a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. This is the final portion of my degree program and I am on target to graduate in May 2022. This is my second career. I hold five teaching certificates and worked as a teacher (Special Ed, English, History, and others) and as a Special Education Advocate at a state-wide level for over fifteen years. In my years as an educator, I saw wounds in families and decided to switch to counseling to help heal those wounds. I’ve found healing through doing my own therapeutic work and really enjoyed mentoring others and helping them find hope. I don’t remember a time in my life where I didn’t want to help others. I’m a native Texan, have been married since 1993, and have three adult daughters. I have life experiences and relational experiences that have helped me grow and see that there’s opportunities and growth for other people.
I believe clients are experts in their own lives and that, as a therapist, I can help them identify and refine their goals and achieve them. My goal is to work with you in a non-judgmental environment to support you as you create tools to help fight through your challenges and meet your needs. I work to be empathetic and view mistakes as an opportunity to grow. Together, we can work to find your path to healing.
