I understand the vulnerability required to take that first step and begin therapy. It’s important to me to provide affirming and culturally sensitive practice, to make sure I understand your perspective, and to be authentic throughout the process. I work to provide a space where you will feel safe to explore and gain clarity on what you are hoping to achieve. From there, we can work on healing from the past, finding your innate wisdom, and tap into your resources within and around you. I love helping my clients create the changes needed to gain a secure sense of peace and fulfillment in their lives, and move forward in confidence.
My experience includes working with individuals, families and couples, as well as in group therapy settings. I have training in (EFT) emotionally focused therapy, (IFS) internal family systems, and operate from a humanistic experiential approach, emphasizing creating healthy attachments. I have also led group therapy in (DBT) dialectical behavioral therapy, helping clients learn mindfulness skills and build effective interpersonal skills. I have worked with families, individuals and adolescents in post-adjudication residential treatment, and helped them prepare for re-entry into the community. I also studied the field of sex addiction, compulsive behavior and betrayal trauma for 5 years before becoming a therapist. Some of the challenges I work with include sex addiction, trauma, infidelity, betrayal trauma, chronic anxiety and depression, self esteem/self worth issues, relationship problems, and areas relating to life transitions such as premarital counseling, blending families, divorce, repartnering, maternal health, and parenthood. When you’re ready to take the next step, I’m just a call or text away.
As a California-born eventually turned Texan – in my free time I enjoy hiking and the outdoors, trying new restaurants, spending time with my family, witty memes, and painting.
